Bingo! Thanks so much!
Where did you get that tutorial for I have no *.ase files on my system.
can be save and loaded to/from any folder,
Well, this certainly was a great answer; and answered what would have been a follow up question; if I'd chosen to ask it.
Oddly, after I changed the drop down and loaded the color swatches; which appeared in the swatch panel, I went to the folder, (the path to which you showed here) and looked in the swatch folder and those .ase swatch files were not there.
So I dragged the .ase files over; not sure why, since they seemed to have loaded.
I then went to each of the related folders and dragged the downloaded files (Actions, Brushes and Tools) that I couldn't load from inside Ps, and dragged them to the relevant folders. Problem solved!
Actually there were two correct answers; yours turned out to be the more definitive; but I saw Kelly's first, so he got the credit

I purchased a CD called Beauty & Portrait Retouching Kit by David Cuerdon, at a Ps Conference a few years back; it must have been a lot of years back because it was done with CS4!
I just got around to watching it and it was pretty awful, and painful to sit through, but there were some good Actions and a nice collection of color swatches; and I did learn a thing or two, but he's not a great presenter! .
