So I have multiple layers that I am editing for a lyric video project in After Effects. I want all the layers to animate from the same anchor point but the anchor would be different for each layer separately. Is there a simple solution for this without having to adjust the sliders in the anchor point section of each separate layer.
Parenting, the Transform effect, the Pan Behind Tool...
Could you explain a brief walkthrough what I would do?
Add a new null to your project. If the layers you want to move together are 3D then make the null 3D. Now select all of the layers you want to move together and from the Parenting column select the null as the parent. If the Parenting column is not visible then right click on the top of the timeline where all of the columns are and make it visible.
If you can't figure it out by that explanation then just type Parenting into the After Effects Search Help field at the top right corner of the app and read the information you'll find there.
