I recently bought Lightroom 5.2 (build 922700) and installed it on my Win 7 PC.
Each time I use it I get the message saying New software for Lightroom is available.
When I go to the site Adobe - Lightroom : For Windows : Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.5 the only option seems to be to download the new program, which I do, but then it says there is an application error. It happens on both the laptop and desktop.
Not sure what the problem is???

check the file size of that exe. it should be 920.3MB
if it's not, redownload.
if it is, use a different browser to download
Tried downloading again for the desktop on both IE and Firefox with same results. For some strange reason the update worked on the laptop???
I'll see if I can copy the laptop file for the desktop.
that's reasonable. sometimes using a usb stick to transfer the installation file is the quickest way to get an uncorrupted file.
The file from the laptop worked on the desktop and now both have Lightroom 5.5, However it's very odd that I had problems.
