    New Ideal Premiere Laptop

Here is a new MSI GT72 Dominator Pro laptop that is very exciting (and very expensive) for video editing.  This laptop is very well equipped right off the shelf.

          Windows 8.1

Powerful NVIDIA GeForce GTX 880M graphics with 8 GB video RAM

Silent and efficient dual fan cooling

          Has 4 x M.2 SATA 128 GB SSD’s that can be configured to provide 1600 MB/second in RAID 3

Has a 750 GB 7200 rpm hard drive

          Supports up to 3 external displays, HDMI 1.4 x 1, mDP x 2

Supports external 4K display via HDMI

          Easy-to-upgrade design!

          17" 1920 x 1080 HD display Anti-Reflective

          Intel® Core™ i7-4710HQ at 2.5 GHZ Turbo Boost to 3.4 GHz

          32 GB RAM DDR3-1600

          USB 3.0 x 6

          Blu-ray Burner

230 watt AC Adapter which better be plugged in for this monster

Surprisingly it is slightly less than 10 pounds

What more could you want for only $2900, except for a solar generator

Bill...this DOES look amazing compared to OUR laptops !!!  However, I am still wondering if Haswell E laptops will come out soon to beat even THIS !!...the CPU clockspeed will probably be the same, but, will more cores, more cache, and quad-channel memory change the performance that much in a laptop?  For MORE Ha-has I ran the old PPBM5 test AGAIN after overclocking the GPU memory to 3Mhz on the G750 and shaved 10secs off the total time...down to 195 total time seconds using 5.03. That makes our laptops comparable to  upper tier DESKTOPS of 2011 in performance !  I have NOT yet run the new test with 2014CC, but, will soon...
