Just spent a day editing documents that I originally started in CS6, but now I have 2014. Saved, shut down. Done. Came back later. Guess what? No changes. They appear not to have been modified at all. What's up with that? Whole afternoon lost.
New docs started in 3014 are fine.
Found them! When I pressed save, they went into the folder with my new files AS new files instead of being saved in their old folder as new versions of themselves. What a relief!
Because InDesign CC 2014 has a different file format than InDesign CC (since it's a new version), InDesign doesn't automatically overwrite the previous version.
