    At end of FLV getURL?

      Hello,

      I have a client who sent me an FLV file and they want a Flash SWF that plays the video and at the end of the video goes to a URL in _self.

      I imported the FLV and embedded it into the timeline and was able to set the getURL script at the appropriate spot and got this to work, however this method doesn't stream well and there is a long wait at the beginning.

      I then imported the FLV using "Progressive Download using Web Server" and this streams much faster, but I don't have a clue how to set the getURL script to run at the end of the video since it's not in the timeline.

      Is there a script that checks the playback of an FLV and when the video is done do a getURL?

      I did read about Cue Points, but this FLV from the client doesn't have Cue Points. I also searched this forum to see if this subject was covered already and didn't see anything.

      Thank you for any help.

          You need an object listener tied to the flv playback component. Something like this:

          var flvComplete:Object = new Object();
          flvComplete.complete = function(eventObject:Object):Void
          {
          // put your getURL code
          }
          playbackComponentName.addEventListener("complete",flvComplete);

          The event gets fired when the flv reaches the end of the playhead.
