So here's the problem. My machine is running really terrible. I feel like it's a strong enough machine to run AE CC 2014 and Premiere at the same time but it chugs really bad. Even when I have an AE file open only it chugs. I can't even move my time line slider without it stopping to load/process for like 30 seconds. It's driving me nuts and no one can work with this issue. Here's the spec on the machine:
Processor: Intel (R) Core(TM)i7 CPU 920 @2.67GHz 2.66 GHz
64-bit Operating System, x64 based processor
Windows 8.1 Pro
ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series graphic card.
I am not a techy person so please explain to me in away a newb would understand haha (like step by step process to fixing this and making it better). Thanks ahead of time for your help.
Quickly I just realized it could possibly be my graphics card. Is it that After Effect doesn't work with Radeon graphic cards?
After Effects works just fine with Radeon cards unless you're talking about the ray-traced renderer (but that's an obsolete feature anyway). More info on the GPU in AE here: GPU (CUDA, OpenGL) features in After Effects CS6 and After Effects CC
Premiere, on the other hand, does have some GPU requirements that make a big difference, so check the tech specs on that.
What do you have in your AE project that is running so slowly? Some things just take time to process. However, if you just have a couple of solids in there (and you don't have ray-traced rendering turned on for your comp), it should be quick.
Again, make sure the comp is set to classic renderer and not ray-traced renderer.
