    bford225 Community Member

Hi the name is brian. and i found out some info this morning. i did not know that BC partner site cant use adobe muse files. so if i created my site in muse then i would i have to export them as html and uploaded them to dreamweaver  and then upload to bc partner site right? so how do i export correctly i dont think i did so right. yeah just learned something. but thats okay. bec i can use this combo for me since i started out working with dreamweaver cs4. i am going to be out of town so i ll have to read this when i get access to wifi. unless i use my iphone lol. um. but if can proivde me with the steps on exporting to html from muse and then uploading through ftp  steps that would be helpful. this is for my own site. not my clients. i am using muse for clients pages bec it would be easier.  thank you.

Let's go back to step one. "i did not know that BC partner site cant use adobe muse files." is incorrect. Where were you told this? There's nothing preventing publishing from Muse to any site on BC, regardless of whether that site was created using Muse or using the BC UI.

I Was told this by live chat . The reason i even did a chat was because in muse my bc partner URL did not show up under list of domains bc URLs . If u go to muse it shows new site when u publish. It did not show my registered bc partner site url

The proper way to use Muse with your partner account would be to publish to your partner account - not sure why it isn't showing up for you in your site list unless you are using different Adobe IDs.

Then in the folder text box enter the name of a folder you want to publish to. Do not publish to the root directory.

Then in your site admin in BC set the index page of your Muse site as the default page.

nope adobe BC still keeps saying that I have to export my files as html and upload through ftp or sftp. i wonder if its an update or a change since the first adobe bc. anyhow. i have no problem exporting my site as HTML. now my question is. will dreamweaver recognize it the files as HTML. is there a code in muse that i have to take out when exporting as HTML for dreamweaver to read the file?  or do you think i should rebuild my personal site in dreamweaver and use muse for clients only. ?

now i am wanting to have 2 site. i am a photographer. and i took dreamweaver one class. . as my first site i can do in dreamweaver and my 2nd or 3rd use muse. which i have no problem doing so.. i love challenges.  and i am in a challenge now. branding myself as a designer instead of a photographer now. redoing my own logo to etc show all. if ,you know the best way for me to do this. than it would be great. now.

there was change. when i first signed up with adobe bc. i did have a site of my own. but i dont believe it was my partner site. muse made a new site for me. um. then i deleted the first partner site and my own site. and did  a restart on creating a new BC partner account. i wonder if that could be the reason why its not showing up .

ALSO MY MUSE APP. KEEPS SHOWING THE UPDATE . AND IT WONT GO AWAY.  EACH TIME I LUNCH MUSE I HAVE TO KEEP HITTING THE UPDATE BUTTON. WHY?

mission complete. you can upload your files to your free partner site from muse. but it still has to be html. do so, you export as html and import into dreamweaver cc. from there, you dont touch the code just yet unless if you want to. if you dont touch the code the site stays the same as you when you export . so all your doing is using dreamweaver to import and upload and publish using SFTP, port 22. file transfer. as far as making changes ,you can either make them directly  in dreamweaver, or bc or again changes from muse and then do the whole export and re publish. but again it is under the free site. it did not make a new site like before.

so thank you. if this the the only way so far. then ill keep using it.
