Jonathan Ferman Jul 25, 2014 8:22 AM (in response to Jan Kabili)Hi @jan kabili,
We show compatibility on every page and it's important you check this before acquiring an Add-on to avoid any potential disappointment about not having the right app or version for the Add-on to work. So please always check the compatibility box or section (shown in the red box in the image below):
As for your 2 questions:
1. No, it's not currently compatible with Photoshop CC 2014
2. I covered it in a post to this forum here: Check Add-on Compatibility
Hope that helps.

Jan Kabili Jul 25, 2014 10:54 AM (in response to Jonathan Ferman)Thank you Jonathan. You answered all my questions perfectly!
If I might make one suggestion: Now that Photoshop CC 2014 has been released it would be very useful for there to be some SPECIFIC information on the add-on page that specifies whether or not an add-on is compatible with Photoshop CC 2014. This is particularly true because installing CC 2014 does not overwrite CC, so that most users probably have both on their machines without even realizing it, and wouldn't think to open CC to see that an add-on has installed there rather than in CC 2014. It's also important because the elimination of Flash-based plug-ins from Photoshop CC 2014 probably affects a lot of current add-ons. The particular add-on I just tested was the very first one that came up for Photoshop in this brand new Adobe service and it was produced by Adobe's own evangelist, so it seemed logical to me to assume it would install in the current version of Photoshop.

Jonathan Ferman Jul 25, 2014 4:07 PM (in response to Jan Kabili)Hi Jan,
As shown above we do show compatibility for every product but like you say with Photoshop in particular we knew the move from Flash panels to HRML only panels could be a big step so we worked with the Photoshop team to show only Photoshop CC 2014 compatible products and the way you can easily access that is from within Photoshop CC 2014 and with a file open or a new document, go to the menu Filter > Browse Filters Online... (as shown below):
This will then launch your Web browser and show you CC 2014 compatible Photoshop Add-ons, like this:
Hope that helps.

Jan Kabili Jul 26, 2014 6:17 AM (in response to Jonathan Ferman)Hi Jonathan:
Thanks for being so responsive. Browse Filters Online is a great feature to build in to Photoshop CC 2014 and I will definitely use it. But as someone with testing experience I can't help but think about how to improve it.The biggest issue is that this command is not very discoverable. Some suggestions to make the command more discoverable are:
1. Give it a more descriptive name like Browse Add-Ons (to comport with the name of the new "Add-On" service) or Browse Extensions (to comport with the menu that holds many installed Add-Ons). It is not just for installing filters, so I'm not sure why it's named Browse Filters Online
2. Move it to Photoshop's Window menu, just above the Extensions menu, where many Add-Ons appear after install.
3. Put something on the web pages the command brings up that indicates that these are Photoshop CC Compatible Add-Ons. The only way I found that information was to click on each add-on and look in that small table.
4. Put the instructions you shared in your post somewhere discoverable so Photoshop users are more likely to find out about the Browse Filters Online command.
Here's a final thought. Why not add Software Version as one of the options by which Add-Ons can be sorted on the Add-Ons site? It looks like it would be doable since the Browse Filters Online command seems to be doing that.

5. Re: watermark, photoshop cc 2014
jstvnsn Jul 26, 2014 11:05 AM (in response to Jan Kabili)hi Jan (also Jonathan),
There is actually a "Browse Add-ons" menu item in Photoshop now - it is in the Help Menu. It launches the page that Jonathan shows, which does only include CC tagged resources. (There are cases where the CC and CC 2014 Add-ons are also backward-compatible to CS6.) But, please note, the "Featured Add-ons" on that page are not all CC 2014 tagged.
Overall though, I guess that I don't understand nowadays why the Window > Extensions item remains as that. Add-on has long ago become the industry-wide term for these gizmos, covering a whole slew of Adobe's products. Plus Adobe has quit with the development and provision of applications for actually authoring/building "Extensions" now (at least for the everyman-type dude or dudesse who aims to contribute something simple and immediately useful). The regular and/or new subscriber user would understand this whole thing better if that item became "Add-ons" and Extension Manager CC became Add-ons Manager CC. -

jstvnsn Jul 26, 2014 11:07 AM (in response to jstvnsn)postscript: I know why the "Browse Filters Online" item has been maintained - because Adobe has done nothing in the "Browse Filters Offline" world for 20 years, except Oil Paint (and look what just happened to that ...) - ouch!

7. Re: watermark, photoshop cc 2014
Jonathan Ferman Jul 28, 2014 3:49 AM (in response to Jan Kabili)Hi Jan (and John),
The Add-ons website is integrated into 12 different CC 2014 apps but how each Adobe integrates it is ultimately decided by the team. so for example, while we suggested to use "Browse Add-ons..." from the Window menu, it was up to the individual teams to implement what they chose. As John mentioned Browse Add-ons is in the Help menu and I think it makes sense for it to go there in the future but changing he URL for Browse filters online was a very quick and easy thing for the team to do in what was a very feature rich and busy release for the Photoshop team with the June 2014 release. It is however, miles better than where the Adobe Exchange panel was, which was somewhat hidden within the Window > Extensions submenu.
I like your idea about filtering by version but have you given any thought to how it might work? If not that's fine but I am just trying to figure out how best to implement it. Would it be a drop down menu like featured, price, newest and just add in CS6 and CC and CC 2014 etc? would love to get your ideas here.
Thanks for all the feedback and suggestions, they are great!

Jan Kabili Jul 28, 2014 7:43 AM (in response to Jonathan Ferman)Hi Jonathan:
I'd like to see a separate menu or perhaps checkboxes for "Compatible Version" that works in a boolean way with the properties in the current Sort menu. That way you could filter for version and then by other factors within your compatible version.

jstvnsn Jul 28, 2014 8:26 AM (in response to Jonathan Ferman)Jonathan,
From the producer's perspective I think that any changes should lean (a lot) in the direction of simplicity. Candidly, and based on feedback I received from users on the first Add-on I submitted, I see the current filters (Popularity, Newest, Title, Price, etc.) as being far less important than compatibility. Plus, as I explained already, apparently nobody knows what Featured (as in the current dropdown menu) means. And this situation will persist and likely get more problematic. Say that Adobe determines to have a full CC 2015 upgrade next year (as another full new version ...). Producers are always drawn to experimenting with new and upgraded features (for example, I could rework several of my Actions at this point to use the new Selection > Focus Area feature in Photoshop CC 2014). So then there will be a delineation between "CC 2015", CC 2014, CC and CS6 - since each of these would (presumably) be available to the subscribing user.
