2. Re: Photoshop CC 2014 crashes right after start in Win7 Ultimate. amtlib.dll seems to blame.
megacycler Jul 27, 2014 11:46 AM (in response to kglad)Thanks for the reply but as I've already stated in my original post I did check out of CC, checked back in. Several times, but without luck and/or success. Photoshop still crashes a few secs after launch. I replaced the original amtlib.dll with the ones available from Lightroom and Bridge but still Ps crashes. When I replace the original Ps amtlib.dll with a cracked one Ps runs fine but then I do not have access to the Creative Cloud.
Again, the original Ps amtlib.dll seems to be problematic while Bridge and Lr run without problems with their own amt.lib.dll
system-info.jpg - Google Drive
Added an unedited neat little 5 mins. 7.7 mb video that shows exactly what's happening
Ps crash on launch.mp4 - Google Drive
(video available until Aug. 5)
-opening Ps, crash after a few secs.
-opening CC, unchecking account
-checking in again
-launching Ps, crash after a few seconds
-copying cracked amtlib.dll to Ps directory
-launching Ps, Ps continues to work
-closing down Ps
-replacing cracked amtlib.dll with Ps original
-launching Ps, crash after a few seconds
That's all there is. Once again: Bridge and Lightroom work fine. Now I would like to have Ps working fine as well.
Kind regards,

3. Re: Photoshop CC 2014 crashes right after start in Win7 Ultimate. amtlib.dll seems to blame.
megacycler Jul 27, 2014 12:58 PM (in response to megacycler)After browsing through several sites I finally stumbled upon the message below, posted a couple of months ago in this forum.
This sequence finally was the solution to my problem with Ps crashing after launch.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -
PROBLEM SOLVED!!
After dozens of fruitless attemps to solve the problem and many, many hours of searching the web, I stumbled upon a thread in the PS community that helped me fix the problem and made my day (weekend).
The thread was originally posted by MrNameloc here and ALL CREDITS got to him. A public "Thank You" to MrNameloc is also in its right place.
The solution is as follows:
- Un-install Photoshop CC.
- Un-install Adobe CC.
- Go to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe and find SLCache and delete it.
- Go to: C:\ProgramData\Adobe and find SLStore and delete it.
- Restart.
- Install Adobe CC.
- Install Photoshop.
- Restart.
@Adobe, you might wanna write this one behind your ear just in case it shows up again in the forums... 'cose it will.

4. Re: Photoshop CC 2014 crashes right after start in Win7 Ultimate. amtlib.dll seems to blame.
ramasaig Aug 28, 2014 1:17 AM (in response to megacycler)It's great to find a potential solution after Adobe themselves were so unhelpful (nothing but cryptic and supercilious replies, worthy of Microsoft itself). BUT my Windows Event viewer lists a different DLL as being the problem. Its 'aticaldd64.dll'.
I've tried installing Photoshop CC twice, almost a week apart, with the same result. It takes over an hour to download.install on my connection. Is there a way to install without having to download each time ?

David__B Aug 29, 2014 2:32 PM (in response to ramasaig)Hi Ramasaig,
I wondered if your issue might actually be related to your videocard drivers based on this thread: Photoshop CC (2014) crashing on startup
Best,

ramasaig Aug 31, 2014 4:28 PM (in response to David__B)Hello Dave,
Thanks for this suggestion. following it through I find I don't appear even to have those video
card drivers. Not sure what to make of that.
However, I've downloaded and installed them, so I'll try Ps CC 4014 again shortly.
Regards,
Tim

petermcc Oct 1, 2014 2:28 AM (in response to megacycler)Photoshop crashes after about 30 seconds. Have updated drivers, logged out/on to Creative Cloud more times than I care to remember. This is really frustrating and time consuming. I'm sure the CC suite software is fantastic with all the bells and whistles, but it's not much use if I can't actually access it.
