No longer available via Adobe, and although you might find a licence for sale on one of the big online auction or shopping sites, there's a very high likelihood that they would be illegally obtained.
What is the reason you don't want Lightroom 5?
And how do I buy one perpetual license for Lightroom 5 ? I am going crazy as the internet link does not work, and no one is able to help me over the phone
Please believe me, I tried 99% of the phone options, and the best answers I get was "Let me put you through the sales department".... but after 35 minutes, I just gave up....
What is the best Lightroom alternative before I get nuts with buying / spending money? it is really difficult to spend our money nowadays....
Go to the site where you can get Lightroom 5 from Adobe, scroll down and look for "Lightrooms 5 standalone" perpetual license. Adobe is hiding it very nicely and it took me nearly 30 min. to find it after searching earlier. They try to sell you this stupid Cloud stuff where they can make money from you for the rest of your life on a monthly basis. Hope that helps.
Thank you Patrick... do you believe the link is not working? Error #404 = the page does not exist !
I tried to do it from another country page, and I managed to have it in my basket. But when I tried to pay it (finally), the system noticed the change of country and asked me to switch back to the no-solution location !!!
I called 3 people now, through the French, the Norwegian and the international phone number... but that is what I can qualify at the worst client service ever seen!
Also, you can try the phone number if you wish to, you will quickly understand that either you come for the CC, or "no support is provided for this software"
Note: Currently, this item is available
only to customers located in the United States and who have a U.S. billing
I am French citizen, living in Norway... They make it harder for us to buy it!
I will give it another try, but then I will continue losing my time on finding best alternatives !
You have to try, log out, maybe even create a new account. They really try to push for the $hit cloud solution. Don't give up, I am trying to get mine too.
Here is the link to the Adobe Products page. I don't know if you can purchase from this page in Norway:
You have to click on the little "Buy" to the right of the Lightroom icon in order to purchase the product. You're right, however. It is difficult to purchase the standalone product anymore. It's not the way they want to market Lightroom.
If you haven’t, already you should trial the software you are thinking of buying on the computer you want to use it on to make sure there isn’t some big problem that makes it unusable. The normal place to do this from is the updates page and run the latest update in trial mode: http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates
Thank you Jim ! I have been through it xxx times, without being able to keep it in my basket.
I then moved to Patrick's idea, and logged off (and also clean up cache memory of my browser).
Without log in, I followed the purchase path, and managed to have it in my basket !
Then, it asked me to log in, and the product was still here !
I finally purchased it !!!
It remains: do not give up. But Adobe's phone assistance is no longer what it used to be when you're not CC customer
(option 1 over the phone, CC customer = 1 minute to wait, option 2/not CC customer: most of the time "this software has no phone support")
DEAR ADOBE: With all respects, we also have millions of reasons not being CC customers. Please do not forget about occasional users like me
THANK YOU ALL !
Or the software has no support if you are trying to get an older version, like 3 or 4.
sspengel: absolutely! I tried those options over the phone too (I was ready to call any service anyway, so I probably tried them all at the end ! ) - only the CC service answered the phone, and actually put me on hold for 35 minutes.
Still, allow me to come back to the initial question from dreamsepixels, and I wish he/she is reading the posts.
You may be able to find Lightroom 4 through Amazon Warehousedeals, but you certainly need to be US resident. Try the below link, and let us know.
Let us know if you live elsewhere, I found some website for France and Norway (english version of the software, but most probably french/norwegian webpage to go through! )
