CMYK AI colors re-separating on import to InDesign

    Dizz Hicks

When I import a CMYK AI file into InDesign, it re-separates it as if it were an RGB. For example, an overprinting 0/0/0/100 becomes a 77/69//68/82.

This may have started when I changed my CS-wide color settings to a GRACol from a SWOP.

I got around this, for now, by saving as PDF.

      • Color setting are consistent across the suite (CS5) and documents in question.

      • AI file's color mode is CMYK (which is why a PDF save works).

      • It worked fine before.

Thanks if you can help! It's a puzzle google hasn't solved for me yet…
