What kind of links are lost?
- Links to an URL or
- Linked files are lost?
If you talk about the linked files, are they on an external server or did you package them before? Have they been available before? Did you move the INDD document before packaging it to a different place?
Preformatted template included images and template eps files . It looks fine on In design screen, but once I try and save as PDF it says error "10 links missing...." It also shows I am missing one of my jpegs, but that I can locate.. I had downloaded the template from a template company as a free one. I did copy the template a couple of times.
Does that answer your question?
Would it work if you first package (file > package…) your InDesign file on a local place, then open the packed file and export it from there. (BTW. Avoid EPS in the future, but this is not the problem here.)
I just fixed it. the art files (from template) may not have ben properly extracted (?) I found the original InDesign template and extracted all the images/art/template files and saved to same folder as newsletter I am working on. Now all the links work again (fingers crossed).
thanks for your response. I am learning all this on my own-many mistakes along the way (-:.
And I 'll need to remember that: file> package in future-did not use it this time. Tx.
