Bit of a weird suggestion since it's a new computer
This is commonly debated, but repairing disk permissions can supposedly help your computer run more efficiently. Open Disk Utility from your Applications folder and click on "Repair Disk Permissions."
All the other programms of the master collection work normaly. Only InDesign an Illustrator behave strange - this seems to me as it would be more a setup problem of the preferences - and i´d like to change them.
There's nothing to change in InDesign or Illustrator.
If you're using any 3rd Party Plugins you should remove them - this could cause the behaviour you're noticing.
Check your Extensions Manager and look for non-adobe related plugins.
Also - disable your font manager if you're using one and see if that helps.
There are no 3rd Party PlugIns installed - no font manager - and no online connection, becaus this is not allowed in our production invironment.
The Extensions Manager did not find anything - any further ideas? Thanks so far.
Have you tried the disk permissions idea?
Do you have a lot of fonts installed on your computer? This could cause a delay in launching.
If you do - then try uninstalling them (move half of them to a different folder) and see if that helps - you may need to move more than half.
Is the default printer a network printer or local? ID likes a local printer for first launch, then seems happy to go back to network.
Since now there is no printer installed at all. It´s the test-installation for our print department. I´ll check that tomarrow, because i need a administrator to install the printer and to try the disk permission idea.
Thanks for now.
