What is the error message? Which OS are you using?
There is a bug in the installer, apparently, that sometimes fails to set the folder permissions correctly for ID to write the preference files, and I suspect that is what is happening to you. See Cant launch new inDesign CC | Adobe Community
Hello Peter, thanks for your answer!
I just made a screenshot of the error-message, as I got it today again...
With this problem I am also not able to open the "Adobe Creative Cloud" software anymore, so I have to reinstall this one again, too.
I am using Windows 7 Professional (64Bit), Service Pack 1.
The link you posted is a little bit complicated for me because it is for Mac Users...
Is anyone able to translate this message into English? I don't recognize much more than uninstall and reinstall and contact support....
Stefan, see Replace Your Preferences for the paths to two folders (normally hidden, so you'll have to set Explorer to show hidden files and folders), one in AppData\Local\ and one in AppData\Roaming\. You need to find those folders and check to be sure both your user and System have full control for the root folder and all subfolders.
You should also try logging in with a different user account on the PC and see if ID works. If it does it can be simpler to simply replace the folders in the original account with the ones from the new account. You must replace the entire folder, not just the files inside, though, which means rename or delete the old folders before copying the new ones.
I think it's this one:
Thanks, I am going to try this and something I found on the support pages: Configuration error 16 | CC, CS the next time the error occurs (always after the shutdown of the PC). I just don't understand why this is happening. I didn't change permission settings, I am the Administrator on this PC and these are my first steps with testversion of InDesign and Creative Cloud ... :-(
That looks like a good procedure.
