1. Re: Unable to mark a layer as "masked" - how do I do it?
sinious Jul 30, 2014 12:21 PM (in response to Mark Elias)I don't recall masks inside masks (on the same timeline) as being possible. I know it's not in CC and CS6.
What you can do is put the content on an outer masked layer inside a new symbol (MovieClip/Sprite) and inside there you can add a new mask to that timeline. Rinse repeat, nesting clips as necessary. Not ideal but possible.

Nipun Asthana Jul 31, 2014 12:03 AM (in response to Mark Elias)In general, you should be able to right click on your masking layer and select Mask. The one layer below it automatically becomes Masked.
Now if you wish to add more layers to be masked under the same mask, select all of them, right click > properties and choose 'Masked'. Just make sure that the selected layers should immediately follow the masking layer and must be consecutive.
If you still can't get it to work, can you share a screenshot of your timeline highlighting the layers you want to mask?
