I'm running a Mac with several CS6 Apps and my most used App is LR5. I use SmugMug for hosting my photos and the plug-in is pure hell to keep working. Not sure if its related to your issue but it certainly seems and looks like it. I have same view of the 'Others' folder as you.
Please update Extension Manager CC to the latest version 7.2.1.
If this issue still exists after update, please refer to https://forums.adobe.com/message/6451979#6451979 . Note that reinstalling Extension Manager doesn't help. If the link above doesn't help you, please look at Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6<http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html> to solve this problem.
1. Each version of Extension Manager only supports corresponding version of applications. You have to use Extension Manager CS6 to install extensions for CS6 apps.
2. Extension Manager doesn't support LightRoom till now. LightRoom has its own plugin manager feature.
Thank you so much for the explanation as it helped a lot! Now I completely understand the issue and that I wrongly assumed that I was running the 'latest' versions of my Adobe Apps via Creative Cloud.
Thanks Carl. The solve was to remove every file related to Adobe products from my machine. Many of the unistallers did not work so I had to manually delete all apps, preferences and application support files. After doing that, restarting, and reinstalling Adobe CC, it is now working correctly. A lot of effort to get extension manager cc up and running. :-/
