    Selective Selecting in an anction

    Monstrik Community Member

Please help to solve this puzzle. I have a circle and a star on a transparent layer. (Please see 4 printscreens attached). All i have is a saved selection of the star. I blur all the content using gausian blur at 10 pixels, and cut some of the star. Now, my question is how do i accurately select the star or what is left of it, including its partially transparent pixels but excluding the circle and its partially transparent pixels. the circle and the star are the same color - black.

I want to do it so it can work as an action. Can anyone help to figure it out, please.

You got your answer in your other post - PS cannot discern different shapes and that makes all your grand ideas for an action go to waste.

Hey Mylenium... thank you for your asnwer. Unfortunately your asnwer doesnt answer my question. I know quite a few ways how to manually select the star but not the circle. But my question is how to do that in an action. I created another post so people dont try to explain how to do that manually, to which i know myself. for me it is all about creating an action.  I didnt know how to delete the post or edit it so i created another one. sorry I have also specified my question. By the way i know PS cannot discern shapes. I believe there is a way to select it using the saved selection of the star and then adjust the selection. sorry for my bad english
