brushwipe Aug 1, 2014 2:29 AM (in response to VivekPassan)Thanks for your help. I have done as suggested and I have also tried alternative settings without successful upload. I have checked and double checked all the assets, then rechecked the sizes of each of my images before trying to upload to the FTP server.
1. I tried to upload with a forward slash in the folder field box - Result was a window " \public_html " does not exist. Do you want to create it?
> OK
New window appears: Error creating folder [failed to MKD dir: 553]
2. Forward slash: The requested folder "/public_home " does not exist. Do you want to create it? > Yes.
New window: Could not validate that the specified domain is associated with the FTP server and folder. Proceed anyway? Yes
3. New window appears: Title of window: Upload to FTP Host
Overall upload progress: 65% complete
Then uploading stalls and a message appears: Error uploading file lucy.jpg. Click to resume. If problem persists, try again later. [FTP response timeout]
Each time I click on Resume the screen freezes for a while then returns to 'live' and it all begins again. It is perplexing me why my site uploads to BusinessCatalyst without any problems. It also uploaded to Namesco.co.uk without too much difficulty (my first upload)
Yesterday prior to contacting you the hosting technician at Vidahost.com took command of my computer and tried to see what the problem was but obviously without success and suggested that the Muse software could be at fault - which I doubt.
I have taken screen capture jpegs of the windows but don't understand how to include them.
Kind regards
Bill

VivekPassan Aug 1, 2014 2:38 AM (in response to brushwipe)Hello,
Please do one thing. Go to your Host server and reset all the permissions and then try again to upload to FTP.

brushwipe Aug 1, 2014 3:49 AM (in response to VivekPassan)Hi, Thank you for your suggestion and I am now awaiting feedback from Vidahost.com . In the meantime is it possible that there is a conflict between my version of Muse and the recently updated 2014?
Kind regards

brushwipe Aug 1, 2014 11:31 AM (in response to brushwipe)Hi, Still waiting to hear from Vidahost support. In the meantime I have stripped all the images out of my Gallery page and renamed them making sure there are no spaces in the names. Then rebuilt the page and previewed it in my browser - it was OK so I published the site to businessCatalyst and it uploaded perfectly. As well as the above I have uninstalled my copy of Muse and reinstalled it (Muse 2014 version). Would you like me to publish it again and give you in browser editing permission. If so I will need email particulars. I will be grateful to get to the bottom of this because it will affect my confidence in offering site design to a client.
Best regards

6. Re: External hosting server has problems uploading my images
brushwipe Aug 2, 2014 4:03 AM (in response to brushwipe)Hello, Further to our recent discussion. I have paid for a year's hosting with Vidahost.
This morning, I have had a long session with the technician at Vidahost.com and with the help of FileZilla we copied the original bilyz.com site from the former host Names.co.uk onto the Vidahost server.
It is visible at: http://bilyz.com.gridhosted.co.uk/index.html
But it still will not permit me to upload the modified files. Vidahost suggest that I go back to Adobe Muse.
Because the original web site uploaded to either server then the rational view must conclude that it is either my site construction or Muse software that is at fault.
My previous suggestion of giving in-browser editing access is now a possible path to pursue.
In the meantime I am considering creating the site in Dreamweaver 2014.
Kind regards
Bill Watters
