Is it possible to detect the actual player/stage size in the
browser from within the flash movie?
A flash movie has its own width and height, but if the player
dimensions are set to be scaled to, for example, 100% in the
browser, then the actual size in pixels of the stage (or of the
flash player) is changed on the screen when the player is loaded
and resized to fit the browser space.
How can I detect this dimensions in runtime?
Is there a browser independent way? In other words, is it
possible to have the running flash movie read them?
Using Stage.width and Stage.height I get the values set in
flash for the movie clip, which are not useful in this case.
I haven't read it all but it looks like this article might
help. It described your situation with the Stage.height and width
on the page after this one in the link. I think the tutorial sounds
like what you're after. Sorry if its not, I didn't look through it
