I work on a PC and have Lightroom 5. On my PC I have tree drives. One SSD disk and two regular. On my C: drive, the SSD drive, all my programs are installed, my pictures are imported to one of my two others.
This disk is almost full and I tryed to copy the Lightroom folder to one of my other disks. In this folder all of the privios Lightroom, 2-3-4 and 5 were installed. Moving the folder to nother drive was no prob, but now when I open LR its emty. All my work and all the folders and collektions are gone. Is there a way to get them back? Ore do I have to Import all the photos to LR again and start on scratch?? I have a lot of photos and I really want to gett back all my eddeting...
Hope someone can help me
Find the Lightroom 5 catalog file on the other hard disk, wherever you moved it to (it ends with .LRCAT), and double-click on it.
You might want to move it back to the SSD for speed purposes, catalogs should perform faster on the SSD. You can leave all the other Lightroom 2-3-4 stuff on the other disk, or even delete it if you are 100% sure you won't be needing these files.
Thank you !! You are a lifesaver
Now Im back to how to safely move the files and catalogs to the other drive and keep LR on the SSD drive... My LR folder contains 120.000 files and 80.000 catalogs (35G) Witch ones can I move to the other disk and still run LR from the SSD disk?
Thank you again
Just move the catalog files to the SSD. Leave everything else on the other disks
