I trying to find a way to simply select a line of styled text and then have InDesign create a nested style based on that text. For example
2012 Chevy Camaro - Leather, Great Car, Super Fast.............$20,000
The ....... would represent a tab character with leading dot. We've switched from using Multi-Ad Creator to using InDesign and this is one of the main features I really miss that creator would do, it saved a tremendous amount of time vs. manually creating all the styles for your nested style.
I'm guessing from the lack of response this must not be possible.
One can certainly make a script to create a nested style.
But the script can't guess where each nested style should end.
In your example, how can the script know whether to create a nested
style up to 3rd word, or whether the intention is up to the hyphen, even
if it's more than three words?
And should the style start after the tab, or from the dollar-sign
You need to define exactly how you want the script to work!
