    "Check for Updates" does not work


      I'm using LR5.  When I click "Help > Check for Updates" I see a screen that says an update (to LR5.6) is available.

      When I click Download I get this message:


      How do I fix this???

          I am not sure what is happening with that error message—the Adobe Application Manager may be missing or maybe you don't have a default browser set or something, but you should be able to manually download the update for LR 5.6 from the following location, near the top:  http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates


          The download above is for the standalone serial-number-licensed LR, not the LR that comes from the Creative Cloud via the Photographer's Bundle for $10/month.  If you have LR-CC then report back and there would be different things to do.
