If you purchased a Perpetual License make sure you are not trying to inter it into the trial version from the Creative Cloud.
For help with checking a perpetual license have a look at the thread below.
In the event you still have problems please provide details of what you are attempting, and full details of your operating system.
Okay so this seems to be working now I am signed in I guess Geez lots of aggravation over a very simple issue why am I on hold for so long I have $2500 invested in Adobe products!
Anyway, I am trying to install LR5 on my new laptop. My copy is only installed on one other computer, my desktop PC
The trial version of LR5 is working fine. I am using Windows 8 if that matters. Every time I input the serial number to make this a full install, it says the number is invalid. Yet LR5 is listed on the products I own in my account. I am at a loss here.
I did buy the perpetual license. So do I uninstall the version I downloaded here? How do I tell if it is CC or perpetual? Thanks for the tip on finding serial numbers. I already got that far!
There is a cloud-favor LR and a serial-number-flavor of LR and only one can be installed at a time.
I’d suggest you uninstall whatever LR5s you have on the new computer, there may be an Adobe Photoshop LR, an Adobe Lightroom, a Lightroom or a Photoshop Lightroom entry in your installed programs list, and uninstall all of them that are LR 5.
Then download and install the LR 5.6 near the top-left of the Adobe Downloads page, and enter your serial number and you should be all set:
Okay so I am now uninstalling LR4 and the LR5 upgrade from my laptop. Maybe I downloaded the trial LR5 CC version I have no idea but it seems likely. Thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction I hope! Just gotta figure out where the LR5 version is nowadays.
UPDATE okay thanks for the links to right versions. You guys are awesome! I am still on hold maybe I should hang up?
Also I would like to thank all of you by clicking on "correct answer" but it only lets me select one reply for that honor. So who wants to be Da Man? LOL
