Hello, I am on a MacBook Pro using CS6.
I have to do a little Photoshop work and wanted to reach out to the pros for the best way to accomplish what I need to do.
I have an image of a cylinder that has rust on it, what would you do? Normally I would use the clone stamp tool with a combination of the layer adjustments..
What about removing a label such as this? (I blurred and did some nasty cloning on purpose! )
I recently discovered the patch tool which has helped me with things like this before, but wondering if there is anything else out there. Some are able to do this stuff relatively quick while I feel like I may not know all the tricks!
When rust has a similar luminance to the original surface simply painting the appropriate solo on a Layer set to Blend Mode Color may help (like on the thread in this image).
For changing large areas I think it’s worth considering to simply paint and use artificial noise or regions of the intended material in the existing image to isolate structure/noise and overlay that (with Blend Mode Linear Light and possibly low Opacity).
Thanks for your reply!! This sounds great.
