I now have two copies of Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Muse. One set is CC and the other is 2014 - Why?. Can I remove the CC version?

I have just updated a 2014 version of Muse. It is now Muse2014.1 Release. beneath that is: 2014.1.0.375. CL785695.

My query is it this: Is this the 13th August update that I have just installed? What harm would occur if I ununstalled the Muse CC version. I also have CC versions of Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Muse. I assume it is necessary to have both (?) otherwise wouldn't Adobe have removed the obsolete versions when the updates were uploaded?

DON'T! I removed the older versions and all hell broke loose. Edit Original type commands stopped working and I had to go in and manually tell windows which program should open an already existing photoshop file, for example...bridge still doesn't seem to recognize PS2014 and I have to open photoshop files from photoshop...Kinda ridiculous if you ask me.

Thanks for your advice. The place is a mine field. Right now I am having problems with Windows which updated itself vernight. I have had two re-boots just to get Firefox to respond and now I am about to try and upload a Muse website to FTP - wish me luck!
