Why aren't keyboard shortcuts working in Cp8?

Here is a screenshot of the properties I have set. I want the learner to use keyboaard commands to answer the copy/paste question I have on a slide.

When I run the project from a web server, and I get to this slide to use keyboard commands, and nothing happens. Even the slide doesn't advance to the next one unless I click the mouse. I want the learner to use keyboard commands.

Why isn't this working, and does anyone have a workaround?

Does the shortcut work when you are in preview mode?

What does script "task2Failed" perform?

No, it does not work in preview mode either. I don't understand why. If I use the ENTER button as the shortcut, it works fine. But not Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V.

Do you get the desired effect if you just use 'C' or 'V'? I don't know much about the shortcut keys yet--just that I couldn't use spacebar. Sorry if this hasn't been helpful.

Weird. Yes, using just the V works. But how am I supposed to create a learning assessment to make sure the learner knows CTRL+V if Captivate won't let me use the CTRL button?

I don't know. Sounds like a limitation of Captivate...
Teach them CTRL+V but just set V? But I do understand, that is definitely not ideal.

If you find a working solution for "CTRL+V" please let us know.

Actually, I just tried it again using CTRL+V, and it DOES work in preview mode. What would be the difference between preview and after it's on the web server?

Maybe CTRL begins to act on the window you're viewing the project from and not on the project?

Maybe. But it makes no sense to work in preview mode and not work when it's on the web server. Both are playing from a browser window.

I'm experiencing the same thing when I try CTRL+V, but it DOES seem to work when I press CTRL+V and then immediately, V. Again, likely not helpful for the situation.

It's completely ignoring the CTRL button. When I put a keyboard shortcut (CTRL+V) on a clickbox and then run the project, CTRL+V does not work. Pressing just "V" works. I need my learners to press the combination of keys.

Even the Print Screen button doesn't satisfy the shortcut option. So basically, nothing about keyboard shortcuts really work properly... wow, and after spending over $1,600 for licenses for Cp8 in my company.

I'll never upgrade to another version of Captivate, and I will not allow my company to either.

As was mentioned in these other threads, trying to get keystroke combinations using Control keys to work when playing Captivate content from a web browser is like banging your head against a wall. It feels a lot better when you STOP trying to do it.

When previewing Captivate content from the Captivate application you are NOT actually using a web browser (unless you use the Preview in Browser option). When you DO actually use a browser to view the content the browser gets to 'see' the keystrokes well before your content detects them and if the browser has programmed responses to those keystrokes then IT will use them and your content doesn't get the option.

Messed up for me too!!! I'm on a Mac - in this newest version, it seems to be built for PC - my keyboard shortcuts are ALL MESSED up. WTF, Adobe? Please stop developing software in India. PLEASE????? Yes, it's cheaper... but so is your product... it should be improving behind the scenes while retaining the previous version's usability and features, not throwing them out the window.
