attach a screenshot of that 'disc not available' message.
I will go home and take this and then you can see that when the application is NOT connected online it will not allow me to access, open or work on my files at home. If the application is open and the files are open, then yes I can work on the files but if I need to import a new graphic, then it will not work!! please help as I am paying 40 bucks a month and can get a new copy for about 300 that works all the time!! Spence
try resetting your preferences by holding down shift-ctrl-alt (win) or shift-cmd-alt (mac) while starting ps. if done correctly you'll see a confirmation dialog.
if you fail to see that dialog, let me know.
if you see the dialog and reset your preference and then when starting ps you see that error, attach a screenshot of it.

Cloud status check every 30-or-99 days https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1542884
CS6 is the last that does not require a status check, but you DO need to have an internet connection for the initial activation Creative Suite 6
