    Triggering events on frame

Can't see to get this to work.

All I want to do is put an action on frame 10 that makes my movie clip 'ball' move. This is what I get

Clip events are permitted only for movie clip instances

I am working in actionscript 2

It's telling you that you've placed an "onClipEvent" handler on the timeline rather than a clip. You've got the right idea by placing it on the time line because the preferred method is to reserve a layer for actionscript only and place your code there.

Try changing it to use "onEnterFrameinstead of "onClipEvent(enterFrame)". Look it up in Flash Help for more details.
