Issues with site when veiwed on differing resolution screens

    Quesstt
I have used the "width:100%" on my bg image and that works great when I view my site on other PCs and until now all other layers and images have fit perfectly, but today i decided to veiw it on th PC @ work and it looks horrid the bg images is squished the layers are offset... it just looks like a huge mess. Any ideas on why it would look perfect on all the PCs except the one at work? res. on work PC:1024 x 768 & res of site: 1280 x 1024. I really wanna fix this. bnportfolio.com

Sure, you've got something that requires 1280 x 1024. When you view at
smaller resolution, the content has to go somewhere and the design
breaks. Test as you go along, you've got to make compromises
          sometimes.

For what it's worth, resolution only determines how large a browser window
you can get when you maximize your browser, not how your page might look,
since you have no idea a) whether the target browser is maximized, and b) if
it's not (and it probably isnt') what its size actually is.
