I have a question about a print issue I’m having. If I print an edited RAW image directly out of LR5, the colors seem quite a bit darker, but if I convert the image to JPEG, then print it, it looks much closer to what I see on the monitor. I have an older HP Photosmart that doesn’t allow me to turn off color management and let LR control the color output. Is it my printer? I’m using a new iMac right of the box, I have not changed any calibration (I must say that I saw this issue from my old Mac), do you think it’s the monitor?
I’m ready to buy a new printer, but would like to understand the issue first. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
Does the RAW file look the same as the jpg on the monitor?
Both the RAW and JPEG files look the same. I just printed them again, and I don't see any difference on the printed copies. Not sure why I thought they looked different the first time????
Adjusted the monitor brightness quite a lot, added +25 brightness in the LR print image panel. The result seemed to produce a print that was really close to the on screen edited image.
