help - flash player refuses to install after multiple efforts

hoping someone out there can help - tried calling apple and they had no clue

have macbook pro, running system os 10.8.5 and safari 6.1.5

have repeatedly tried to download flash player - it quits before install complete w/ general installation error

have removed older versions of flashplayer

please help !

Hello,

Please provide the following two log files:

• /Users/<YourUserID>/Library/Logs/FlashPlayerInstallManager.log
• /private/var/log/install.log

You can use Finder to get to these, or the Console app (/Applications/Utilities/Console.

The files will most likely be too large to post here in a comment.  Please provide them using instructions here How to share a document.

couldn't find the private/var/log/install.log
