How top open PDF with bookmarks from the web?

Hello,

Is there a way to open a PDF from the web directly to adobe reader/acrobat so that it will show the bookmarks?

Our website currently has a dropbox account to which all of the board meeting documents are added to. Links to these documents are listed on our website for the public to read. When someone clicks on one of the documents, it is downloaded and when they click to open it it opens in the web browser. Opening the files this way does not show the bookmarks (even though the documents properties say to open with bookmarks).

What are our options here?

I wonder if you're opening in something that doesn't support bookmarks, like Chrome.

Yes...I am using Chrome.
I tried to check IE, but it is not working with dropbox so I can't get to the file links in the first place.

So is that all there is to it then, or is there a way around it?

It is possible, but only if you use applications that support the Adobe PDF
Open Parameters syntax. In other words, if you use Adobe applications. The
URL for that would be:

http://example.org/doc.pdf#pagemode=bookmarks

I can view the documents with bookmarks because I already know that I can save them and open them in Adobe. It is the users of our website I am concerned about.

The links to the documents are generated by dropbox, so I am unable to alter them as you have described...
It needs to work as simply as...click the PDF document link, opens in web browser to PDF showing the bookmarks.

With non-Adobe PDF viewers all bets are off, but one other thing you can do is open the file in Acrobat and then go to File - Properties - Initial View and under Navigation Tab select "Bookmarks Panel and Page". Again, no guarantees that this will work in non-Adobe viewers, though.
