Lightroom 5.6 on my Win 7 PC will not start when I click on the icon, or start it from the .exe file. No error message is produced. Nothing happens. The other CC programs, Bridge and PS CC run fine. It is listed on my Apps as installed and up to date. I believe the problem came when I updated to 5.6 from 5.5.
When I first discovered this I used the help. I first uninstalled Lr5 in the normal way. I then re-installed it via the CC screen. After install, it still does not run. There is a Help document that addresses this. I believe I have properly done the first three solutions. It appears that Solution 4 requires you to uninstall all CC applications. I am reluctant to do this.
Has anyone else had similar problems? If so, what did you to correct them? It appears I am running the latest version of CC software.
Thanks in advance for any help.
The fix that worked for me was to clear the SLCache folder of its contents leaving the folder intact. It is Solution 4 on this Adobe Help page:
Thank you very much for the reply.
That is exactly what The rep on the other end of Adobe chat did. There were a couple of detailed steps I may have missed on my own. By the way, I was impressed with Adobe Chat.
