I work cross-platform - an iMac at work and a PC at home. Have never had any problems with all the CC programs until I updated my InDesign CC on the PC to the (2014) version. All of a sudden it will not get past the splash screen - just hangs and crashes with a "cannot open" comment. The following is from the crash details window:

I've been looking through the forums; tried deleting my preferences (no good), uninstalling and reinstalling the older version (which used to work just fine) only to have the same thing keep happening. I'm a long-time Mac user and just started using the home PC for outside work. Anyone help me so I don't have to ask my software engineer husband who DETESTS Macs and all things Adobe? I'll never hear the end of it.
PC is a Dell Inspirion 530 running Windows 7 Professional, 4GB RAM, 64-bit operating system.
InDesign CC currently installed is v 9.0
What you show above is a crash in a non-updated version of IDCC, not IDCC2014. It should be updated to 9.0.2 and also check if Java is installed on the PC. The faulting module is the Object Model which would be related to scripting.
Right. I uninstalled CC as the earlier version did work previously. Now this one doesn't work either. I updated this to the most recent version of 9 right after I posted this question... same result. I will make sure my Java is up to date and try again.
Did you use the Cleaner Tool to uninstall: Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6. As a last resource I would try restore to a date before the installing and start all over.
