    Moving app to beta3 producing strange error

    DWUser.com Level 1
      I'm porting an app from beta2 to beta3. I get the following error: Expecting semicolon before target. It provides a line number, but doesn't indicate any file. Any thoughts?

          Hello,
          This has appeared before. One theory was that it was a static variable
          problem. You could cut out parts of your code to try to narrow it down, and
          post a smaller app. that just contains the suspected problem areas for us to
          look at.

            After a large amount of debugging, I finally determined the issue to be with a ? ... : .... style conditional inside an MXML attribute. I think that no filename was displayed because the error was within Flex-generated AS code.

              Can you post the expression? That should work. For example, this works
              fine:

              <mx:Application xmlns:mx=" http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" width="100%"
              height="100%">
              <mx:Script>
              public var bArriving:Boolean = true;
              </mx:Script>

              <mx:TextArea id="ta1" text="{bArriving ? 'hello' : 'goodbye'}" />
              </mx:Application>

              Thanks,
              - Rob

                Sure, though I haven't tried to see if this has problems in an isolation test:

                <mx:Label text="Type: {editor_currentEditXML.children()[(editor_elementList.selectedIndex == -1 ? 0 : editor_elementList.selectedIndex)].name().toString()}" fontWeight="bold" width="100%"/>

                  Could you provide a complete testcase for this?
