Premiere Elements 12 uses Music Scores under the Audio Tab of the workspaces. Although Music Score feature is similar in principle to SmartSound, it is not SmartSounds which was discontinued after version 11.
You can import your SmartSound as.wav into Premiere Elements 12 with Premiere Elements 12's Add Media/Files and Folders.
What is your situation as to SmartSound?
Add On...For fuller details of the SmartSound - Music Score situation, please see items 0003 and 0004 in my blog post on Premiere Elements 12 Daily Discoveries.
Thanks for the quick response, much appreciated. I thought I could use Smart Sound features similar to the previous version. Will use the music panel instead.
I am fairly new to Premiere Elements. I just updated to version 12 and learning in the process.
Thanks for the reply.
Please be sure to update 12 to the 12.1 Update for Premiere Elements 12 and Elements Organizer 12. See Help Menu/Update in an opened project. There is a text styles issue that targets only the 12 Expert workspace, and this update fixes that. Probably also offers some other less obvious fixes.
Best wishes moving forward with your Premiere Elements workflows.
Now I am getting an error message that Outdoor-adventure_s_texture.png file is not found?
Also Instant Movie Outdoor Adventure does not work any longer when I click apply instant movie? How can I fix it?
Glad you asked. I just happen to have a blog post I did a while back on that particular Outdoor Adventure Instant Movie glitch.
It can be fixed with a bit of work as described in the blog post which includes a suggested fix along with the description of the problem.
Please review the details. If you have questions or need clarification on anything written, please do not hesitate to ask.
Thanks. I re-installed Premiere Elements 12, I downloaded Outdoor Adventure, but the “Online” folder is nowhere to be founded on my hard drive. It is not in the location it is mentioned in this article.
It’s becoming very frustrating!!
Is this where you are looking for the Instant Movie Outdoor Adventure
Go to the file "outdoor-adventure_texture.png" at the end of the path (Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit)
Local Disk C
1. Are you using Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit computer?
2. If so, then are you working with the Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see the complete path cited?
Are you OK finding Folder Options in your computer environment? If not, I will post the details specific to your computer operating system.
Do not give up. The Online Folder is there.
We will be watching for your results.
I founded and solved the problem. Thanks again. Following is my system:
· System Window 7
· Folder options is now checked to show hidden files, folders, or drives
· I found the file in the path you mentioned below
· Applied the fixes as per previous message.
All is well…for now. Just compiling a movie …hope no other issues come up.
Thanks again for all the help and assistance, it is very much appreciated.
Great new and great job moving forward with your Premiere Elements projects.
Remember, never hesitate to ask if questions or need clarification.
Glad of the opportunity to be of assistance.
