if any of your movieclip dimensions are going to be greater than 2880 you're exceding a limit that has no work-around.
Are you loading a image into a movieclip dynamically and wants scalling effect with easing effect.

That's not entirely correct - you can load x 2880 images into one container
mc... In the timeline we did for JLo, the background MovieClip sometimes is
over 12000 pixels wide.

david, you loaded an image that was wider than 2880 pix?
The image is already loaded into the library and placed on the stage. It is not loaded dynamically.
