I bought and own InDesign CS5 for Mac OS and have been using it for some time. It's great. Last year my Mac got a virus and crashed and I moved my files, including this version of InDesign to my new Mac Book Pro which operates on Mac OS X v. 10.9.4. When I open InDesign I get the options menu (i.e., "open existing document," start a new document," "start a book") but then when I go forward with any of those I just get the beach ball of death and have to force quit the program. I paid good money for this and I need it to work for me really soon. What can I do? Thanks
ID does not migrate well. Uninstall and reinstall from the original installer.
As has been repeated countless times on this forum:
1. CS5 is not supported under Mavericks
2. Using migration assistant is a recipe for disaster. Uninstall, run the
cleaner tool and then reinstall using the installation media. If it still
doesn't work, see number 1.
