OT: CS3 upgrade and extra software in Master Collection

    BruceCSI2 Community Member
I'm seriously considering upgrading to Web Premium CS3 suite for $500, then the Master Collection when it comes out for the price difference due to all of the software that's included for the upgrade price. I'm fairly sure the following is true, but I want to get some other people's opinions.

There are several programs included in the Master Collection which I've never had before, or I've had the educational versions and haven't used since I graduated because I didn't want to pay the full price for due to lack of ROI. However, I have Studio MX2004, which makes me eligible for the upgrade price of $1,999 total for the Master Collection.

If I do the upgrade to CS3 Master Collection, I will not only get the upgraded versions of the programs I already have, like DW, FW, etc., but I will also have the full versions of the other programs like Premiere, After Effects, In Design, etc., correct? If so , that would be really cool because I'm getting more demand for video, print, etc.

Also, I reformat my hard drive once a year to wipe out old useless programs, spyware that gets missed, etc. I plan on doing the upgrade immediately after the reformat. When installing the CS3 upgrade, will I just need the old serial numbers for Studio MX2004, will I have to reinstall MX2004 then install the upgrades, or will I need to insert the disks so the installer can read them?

If the upgrade does not find a previous product on the machine it will ask
for you to enter the serial numbers.
