Do you control the other end? It would be more normal to require authentication when accessing the page.
I will have access to the PDF, which I will play with, but eventually this will go on an iPad.
I don't think you understood what I meant, but I'm not clear on where these links go. If they go to a web page, the page can be protected.

THe links go to pages within the same PDF.

OooooKaaaaay. If the pages are in the same PDF, how do you expect to hide them from ordinary navigation/scrolling? Disabling the hyperlink seems like a waste of time if anyone can still page through the document. And if you have a way to require authentication at the page level (I have no idea how that would be done), you don't need it at the hyperlink stage.

With that said, maybe those few pages can be in a separate PDF that is password protected?
Hmmmmm..... That might be doable. I have to find out from the developers how they are implementing these for usage.
