I'm making Lower 3rds using Photoshop and After Effects. How do I SAVE a lower 3rd so that it will work in Preimere and After effects later? Is this possible? Can someone help me?
If your lower thirds are not animated, just backgrounds, then just save as a photoshop file and Any NLE or Compositing app will open them just fine. They just need to be the same size as your composition.
If you are planning on animating the lower thirds then create a layered Photoshop file and import that as a composition in After Effects. Set up the animation, then render using the render cue and the preset Lossless With Alpha. Import the rendered file into your NLE to add the lower thirds.
If you are new to AE please start here: Basic Workflow Trying to use After Effects without learning the basics of animation, layering, and rendering will be completely frustrating.
Thank you, Rick!
