Argh...My text in Photoshop C2 is blurry. Please could you help?

      Hello.

I have just brought Photoshop c2 after my free trial for the latest one ran out and couldn't afford the monthly cost! I have created text in a heart shape and then have a title underneath but all the text is a little blurry. It is set to 'sharp' as I googled it but that hasn't helped. Not sure what to do. This is an anniversary prezzie so I would like it as clear as possible.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Abby  (I hope I have the name right?)

What is the image size in pixels, and what text size have you used?   What zoom ratio are you viewing at?

If you intend to print the graphic, you need 300dpi for optimal results, so when you start the new document set the size in inches or cm, and 300 for the resolution:

          Card size.JPG

I suspect the rest will flow from there, but you might also want to set Type to mm in Preferences > Units & rulers as opposed to the default Points.  This way if your card is 6 inches high, setting type to '12' will result in text to one twelfth the height of the card.  I find this much more predictable than using Points.

Try to remember two basic and very useful shortcuts.

Ctrl 0 — will make the entire image fill your work area.

Ctrl Alt 0 — will zoom to actual pixel size.
