Adding pauses to buttons in Captivate 8

    barneyredfern Community Member

I have just migrated a file into Cap. 8 and a few elements have gone awry in the move. One is that some buttons that previously had pauses on them no longer do, and I can't see how to reinsert a pause.

Is there a way to do this without replacing all the buttons?

Look in the properties. Specifically the Timing area,

Capture.JPGI don't see any timing tab - just the properties one. NB I know there is a pause on this button, so I don't understand why there isn't a timing tab

If you are in newbie mode, Captivate controls everything. And that means that panels will be visible/hidden when CP decides they should (you can hear I'm a control freak, don't like applications behave like that). You have to select the button (is it a normal or a shape button?) to see the properties of the button, on your screenshot you are showing the Properties of the slide, because nothing is selected on that slide. I should have expected the Timing panel to show up, because the duration of the slide is there. Try to select the button, I see indeed a pause at almost the end of the slide for Button_49, not for Button_50. If the Timing panel still doesn't show, try the Window menu, normally you should be able to check 'Timing Properties' because it is labeled there that way, the panel itself has the title 'Timing'
