A DNG converter may change my RAW files so I can still work in Lightroom 4 ( I have a D7100 Nikon) - Lightroom does not support this.I can either get Lightroom 5 or get a DNG converter but I dont know which way to go, can anyone help me with advice please? The converter I found came with a popup that said that the software might damage my computer. Can anyone give me advice on this problem , I have windows 7.
If I go for Lightroom 5 is this an upgrade and if so do I retain all the Lightroom 4 stuff?
That model was supported in LR 4.4, upgrade your lightroom to 4.4 (Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras)
Lightroom downloads: Adobe - Lightroom : For Windows
The DNG converter wont wont damage your computer, as long as you download it from Adobe: Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Windows
As BKKDon said, you should be able to use that camera with Lr4.4, but I'd upgrade to Lr5 anyway.
It's better for you, better for Adobe, and better for all Lr users, since it helps assure Adobe can continue to make Lightroom better for all of us.
Yesterday, over on the ACR forum, you told us you had LR 4.1 and were told to update it to LR 4.4.1. Why, today, are you coming over to the LR group and asking the same questions, but refusing to update to LR 4.4.1?
