could not connect to the application server

New computer upgraded to Win 7.  ADE 3.0 installs but I cannot authorize.  Always get the message "could not connect to the application server".

How do I get ADE 3.0 to authorize on this computer?  I really need it because the university uses ADE for all the ebooks and they are getting all new books as ebooks.
