Your catalog file and photos are on your hard disk(s), it is something that you own, not Adobe. They can't take it away from you.
According the recent information from Adobe (sorry, I don't have the link), if you subscription expires, you can still use your catalog and Lightroom's Library Module to view your photos and to export them. You cannot import more photos or use the Develop module.
That's great..so the program won't just disappear off my applications? I had heard that photoshop will if your subscription expires...I understand about not being able to import new information. Thanks for the quick reply..

Not quite. You can import new photos. It's better to think "everything except go into Develop or Map".
