No tutorial can teach you animation timing. It all comes down to practice and experience. You are wasting your time even looking for one.
How soon do you need it?
You could lay out some solids in 3d space in AE pretty easily, but turns and such would be a little tricky.
If you're fairly comfortable with Particular or even CC Particle World, you could make a path move around in 3d space fairly easily and you could have some AE layers set around (text, flags, poles, etc.) to help give the impression of movement and depth.
You know what might be good? Real 3d! If you are using CC or CC 2014, this is a good option: details of CINEMA 4D integration with After Effects That's right; Cinema 4d now comes free with AE! Well, a "Lite" version anyway. The only problem is that working in 3d has a bit of a learning curve, thus my first question.
