    file upload in fireworks

    richardhellyer
I like to use the upload feature in fireworks 8 ... however, i was wondering if there was a way to have it upload the exported version of the file, since this is typically what i need to have on the site, rather than the fireworks png version.

      thanks in advance

Where exactly are you finding a "upload" feature in Fireworks/ Are you
referring to the Quick Export? Please be a bit more specific.

Hello Joyce ... I wasnt referring to quick export, but to the file management facility that is available with Fireworks (its described in 'help' under 'file management button' ... if fireworks recognizes that the file which you have open belongs to a folder in a dreamweaver site, it enables you to upload/download the file directly from fireworks (get/put)

File management only works with the png file. You cannot single out a
              slice and upload/download just that.

t's not a feature I've ever used because uploading the png only is
pretty useless for me :-) If you have a jpeg or gif that you open, edit
then Put, it will upload to the roght folder. Another use for PNG would
be a separate image you want to have transparency in, then upload that
PNG along not the site layout.
