    will Director support Android and planed go together with ios7,8, etc?

      Hi dear,

       

      I'm  fan of Director and now  am looking for tools for mobile apps. the first choice comes to my mind is Director but I have doubts..

       

      I know Director 12 have IOS support now, but I'd like to know will Director continue support IOS 7,8, etc, and will Director support Android platform?

      and, are there any plan to support more platforms such as WindowsPhone, Blackberry?

          Right: iOS 8 is coming, 5 days from now.

          Does anyone already tried to install their app on an iOS 8 device?

          Will our apps work on iOS 8?

            If the next version of Director were able to export as WebGL (like Unity and Flash now do) it would be very easy to convert the projects into native Android and iOS apps. And we would be able to run in-browser stuff without the need for the Shockwave plug-in. WebGL is the way to go and it should definitely be on Director's roadmap.

              I seriously doubt there will ever be a new version of Director.

                I seriously believe that Adobe will continue making new versions of Director

                (the old dog still makes them lots of money!)

                 

                I tested my apps on the last OS8 beta, and they worked fine

                (but you can never tell with Apple until the final release)

                 

                mdmoser - if you like WebGL so much, why don't you just switch to Flash or Unity and be done with Director.

                 

                 

                Being able to publish to the iPad/iPhone - my company has never before had so much work

                 

                I hope other people are making money with Director

                 

                 

                [ in house training apps / simulators / point of sale software / and straight out - educational titles ]

                 

                 

                Just as long as it's works on the iPad - my clients are happy

                 

                 

                A publish to Android function would be nice - but here in Australia most of my clients tend to use iPhones and iPads. (especially amongst females ???)

                I hardly every get asked for android - but again it would be nice to say - yes


                I don't even know what a Blackberry is?


                And I doubt that Director will ever publish to the RT Surface or WindowsPhone

                 

                Although I do have a few clients who use a Surface Pro - and the software works fine.

                (but not under the metro-style)

                 

                For the moment - I just hope that Adobe keep working on Director's IOS publishing - as it's the bit that's making me money.

                  you know I'm your biggest fan.

                  But I don't bet on "Adobe's making tons of money with Director".

                  How many Director subscibers are there?

                    We work since 2001 with Director and make money.

                     

                    But yes - we are afraid, Director fades away!!!

                    A lot of things are buggy, no manuals or real descriptions, no examples, … thats sad!

                     

                    Shylock74: That's a legitimate question. How many Director subscibers are there?

                     

                    On the other hand we are hopeful and see a sign to the future with iOS support.

                     

                    Milky: It's nice to hear, that you are successful with development on iOS and happy clients.

                    We hope this works in Germany to?!

                     

                    I agree, support for Android would be nice!

                    Some years ago our clients ask for iOS apps.

                    But we can't satisfy this wish with D11.5!

                    The same ask now for Android and tell us something about 80% market share.

                     

                    We will see ...
